Marmore Falls

We painted at Marmore Falls -- a dramatic, 541-foot waterfall made by the Romans in 271 BC.
This was my favorite painting spot of the trip! 
The waterfall was turned on from 11am-1pm. 
We arrived early. There was a small amount of water flowing 
even when it was turned off which would have made an interesting painting.
However, when the water was turned on, the results were stunning!
Even though I was far away, the mist was voluminous. 
I painted this painting and wanted to paint a second, but by that time, 
the mist had drenched my canvas and palette. The paint would not adhere.
No worries, I hiked the falls and got many photos of rainbows and rays of sunlight lighting the mist.
