Van Gogh Influenced Landscape

I tried to think like Van Gogh while painting this landscape. You can see it some in the evident brushstrokes pushing the eye around the painting. The most surprising difference for me while "painting like Van Gogh" was the change in attitude -- a boldness, fearless use of line, and an indifference to the approval of others.

Hi Charlotte,

I am constantly experimenting which is part of what makes painting so much fun. I love Van Gogh's brushwork and in this painting I am playing with line and brushstrokes to add energy and movement. You may wonder where this place is? It is pulled from my imagination though I want the viewer to think of France, a place I have painted many summers.

It's 24" tall x 30" wide.
